I'm a barrister who has been in practice for nearly 9 years. However, given the unstable work nature and the ridiculous amount of rent etc. that I'm paying monthly, I decided to look for jobs as an in-house counsel.
I've a master degree in financial law but I don't have relevant experience working for a financial institution, which, I realise, makes me appear to be a weak candidate. I don't know where to start, could you please give me some advice ?

Ever tried those regulatory bodies such as but not limited to HKSE, HKMA, SFC, ICAC, etc. etc. Apart from banks?

50K is for graduates, with 9 years experience, you should ask for 100K.

Thanks for your reply doc ! I know some friends who are working as in-house counsel are making about $50K per month --- something which I'm ready to work for. However, given that I do not have relevant experience working for banks or MNCs, I'm ready to take less so as to gain some experience and knowledge of what's going on in the real world, which definitely will help to bring me further.

Barrister or not I think we are on the same boat, the "Entrepreneur"! YOu don't have to tell me the rents are crazy, not the mention other utilities, operating costs, etc. etc.
Allow me to first ask you this, how much salary would you be expecting to work for as an in-house counsel? I'll give you more advice later, got to go, sorry!
